Following the success of Green Power Conferences, high level Solar Innovations & Investment Europe conference which was attended by over 120 participants this market leading event will now run an Asian edition in 2009.

With the Asian & Chinese solar market particularly flourishing Solar Innovations & Investment Asia will be run alongside the 4th Annual AsiaSolar Expo, an event that focuses on photovoltaics, solar system projects and solar architecture. More than 350 exhibitors will be presenting their products and services across 20,000 m² of exhibitor floor space in 2009 with AsiaSolar expecting more than 20,000 visitors.

Despite being one of the more established renewable energy fields, with only 4GW of installed capacity globally, solar is very much in the early stages compared to its potential market. The market is getting ever nearer to the point of grid parity on cost which will prove the tipping point for the industry. Investment is flowing into the solar industry at ever increasing levels; in 2007 alone US$2.8bn of venture capital and private equity entered the market enabling the solar market globally to add 40% in additional capacity.
